Nikolina’s Attic is named after our daughter Nikolina who is a 9 year old Cancer survivor. Nikolina who was diagnosed at 3 years old, finished treatment for Leukemia in February 2013. She spent countless hours in the hospital and clinic for treatment two and a half years.
When she finished her final treatment, she asked if she could give her toys to the children that are still in the hospital. We had to explain to her that they couldn't take used toys because they could get sick, she packed up two bags of her toys and said “Let’s sell these and give the money to Child Life so they can buy new toys for the kids!” That is when Nikolina’s Attic was born.
We began by packing up boxes of toys to sell and put it out on social media and the response was amazing! We got donations from people all over Long Island. It truly touched us to see how generous people were.
Every penny earned at our events will go to the Child Life Program and be used to buy new toys, games, crafts, and much, much more for the kids who were still in treatment with Cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
We are so happy to do this as a way of giving back for the tons of wonderful gifts and amazing care Nikolina received while she was in treatment.
Please help us today by donating what you can!
